High Commission of Malaysia in United Kingdom

Only a few Malaysian Missions overseas are given the authority to issue Malaysia Passport and other traveling documents to Malaysians abroad. At the moment, besides London, other Missions given the authority to accept and process Malaysian Passport application are in Singapore, New York, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Jakarta.

For Missions without the authority, applications can still be made through it who would then submit the application to the Immigration Department of Malaysia headquarters in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Malaysia Passport Renewal Procedure in High Commission of Malaysia in United Kingdom

• No form (IM.42) required for normal renewal. Completed form (IM.42) must submitted for new born baby.
• Original Malaysian Identity Card (MYKAD) and photocopy of MYKAD (front and back)
• Current International or Restricted Passport if available.
• Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 09 need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application.
• Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 11 has to be certified by the National Registration Department and need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application.
• Original Malaysian Birth Certificate / Borang H (formerly W) / Citizenship Certificate if born outside Malaysia and and photocopy for children below aged 18 years old.

Specifications of Photo for Malaysian International Passport

• A photograph is taken at Passport Division using Facial Live Capture Recognition Device.
• Applicants should wear dark-colored clothing covering shoulders and chests.
• Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera with a neutral facial expression, both eyes open and mouth closed.
• Do not wear a hat or head covering/obscures hair or hairline unless worn daily for religious purpose. Full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
• Contact lenses and spectacles are not allowed while taking pictures.
• The applicants who wear a veil (tudung) are required to wear a dark-colored veil.

Processing Period

• Approximately two months. The application will be sent to Immigration Offices, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah / Kuching, Sarawak, for processing and approval.

Additional Documents for Change Of Name In The Malaysia International Passport

• Approval letter on the change of / additional name obtained from the Identity Card Division, National Registration Department, Putrajaya.
• Copy of Malaysian Identity Card (IC) / Temporary IC KPPK 09.
• Other relevant documents, such as the marriage certificate, certificate of baptism, certificate of religious conversion, etc. (where applicable).

** Please be advised that children below 4 years old are encouraged to bring along two pieces of a photograph with a white background. (Size 35mm x 50mm).

Presence of Applicant

• Applicant above 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport.
• Applicant below 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport. and accompanied by one of their Malaysian parents.
• Applicant below 2 years need not be present for passport collection. The passport can be collected by one of their Malaysian parents.

• Submission : 9.15 am - 12.00 pm

• Collection Day : Same day after the submission.

• Collection Time : 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm

• Friday is by appointment only.

• For a senior citizen, pregnant woman, disabled person and newborn baby only.

• £41.00 - Adult (13-59 years old)

Special Fees

• £21.00 - Children below 13 years old

• £21.00 - Senior Citizen 60 years old and above

General Statement

• The use of the word of ‘anak lelaki’ (AL) and ‘anak perempuan (AP) for Indian and non-muslims citizens on the main page has been repealed but disclosed in the ‘OBSERVATIONS’ page.

• If the applicant is under the age of 18 years, his/her parents' Malaysian Identity Card is required.

• Malaysian passport unclaimed after three months from the date specified in the receipt of payment will be fortified and disposed of. The applicant must submit a new application and it will is processed accordingly including payment.

• Particulars of children (including newborns) will no longer be included in the parent’s passport. The child will be issued a separate passport. A change of photographs for children two years and above can be made. Submit two recent photographs and birth certificates (original and a copy).

 • The applicant and his/her children must appear before the Immigration officer.

• Under the Guardianship Act 1961 – Amendment (1999), consent can be given by the mother for the child under 18 years old.

• Passports reported lost and rediscovered is not valid and the information will be forwarded to INTERPOL
