Starting 11 May 2010, Malaysia international
passport applications will be processed within 1 hour after payment is made
at selected locations.
This fast service will be available at 28
immigration
office branches in 11 states such as Kedah, Penang, Johor, Pahang, Perak,
Kelantan, Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah, Sarawak and
Labuan.
For Kedah, the service will be available at the
Alor Setar,
Kulim,
Bukit
Kayu Hitam,
Langkawi and
Sungai Petani branch offices while for Johor, the
service will be available at the
Muar,
Mersing,
Kukup and
Segamat branch
offices.
For Penang, the service will be available at the
George Town
and
Seberang Jaya.
Those in Pahang can go to the
Kuantan,
Raub and
Temerloh branch offices
while those in Perak can go to the branch offices in
Lumut,
Teluk Intan,
Pengkalan Hulu and
Taiping.
For those in Kelantan and Perlis, they can head to the
Kota Bahru and
Kangar
branch offices respectively to obtain the service while those in Terangganu
can go to the branch office in
Kuala Terengganu.
For those in Sabah, they can go to the branch offices in
Tawau and
Sandakan
while those in Sarawak can go to the offices in
Bintulu,
Sibu,
Limbang and
Miri.
The one-hour passport collection system for new chip-based international
passports was launched at the Immigration's
Pusat Bandar Damansara and
Wangsa Maju offices in 2007.
